Congratulations to Tiana Clark, whose collection I Can’t Talk about the Trees without the Blood has been chosen as the winner of the 2017 Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize. The book is scheduled for publication in Fall 2018. Read the press release.

Congratulations to Carin Berkowitz and Bernard Lightman, whose edited volume, Science Museums in Transition: Cultures of Display in Nineteenth-Century Britain and America has won a Choice Outstanding Academic Title Award for 2017.

Alicia Suskin Ostriker is the recipient of the 2017 National Jewish Book Award, poetry category, for her collection Waiting for the Light.

With great sadness, we mourned the passing of Samuel P. Hays in November, 2017. Hays was pioneering scholar in the field of environmental history.

Rasha Diab has been awarded the 2018 CCCC Outstanding Book Award for Shades of Sulh, from the National Council for Teacher Education.

Congratulations to Celso Thomas Castilho, whose book Slave Emancipation and Transformations in Brazilian Political Citizenship, has won both the 2018 Bolton Prize (best book on Latin American History) and the2018 Dean Prize (best book on Brazilian history) from the American Historical Association.

Congratulations to James Monroe and David Wright, whose book Butterflies of Pennsylvania, won the 2017 National Outdoor Book Award, nature guidebook category. More information.
